Spend your mornings and evenings on the covered balcony
Like every apartment here, First Floor 3-Bed Unit by the Ocean has a large, covered alfresco balcony with outdoor dining and a BBQ, so dinner can happen outdoors on a warm night.
Because it's covered, the balcony still works when a shower rolls in off the coast. Have breakfast out there before the beach, or come back after a day out and eat while the light fades.
We can't promise ocean views from the balcony. For water views, Easts Beach is a 15-minute walk (1.3 km), and our guide to sunrise and sunset in Kiama shows where to watch.
A few house rules apply outside as well as in:
- No smoking at any time, and that includes the balcony.
- Keep it quiet between 10pm and 8am. Neighbours live close by.
- No parties. A breach of the house rules can lead to a $500 fine.

Drive up to Saddleback Mountain for the big coastal view
The balcony is for slow mornings. When you want a wide view of the coast, head inland and uphill. Destination Kiama says that on a clear day the Saddleback Mountain Lookout shows the coastline from Cronulla in the north to Milton in the south. It's about 9 minutes' drive from the apartments.
There are two viewing platforms. The north-facing one sits off the main car park, and a newer southern platform is a little further up. Read our Saddleback Mountain guide before you go.
Prefer to stay on foot? The 20 km Kiama Coast Walk runs from the Minnamurra River in the north to Werri Beach at Gerringong in the south, in three sections of about equal length. Settle in for a week, a month or longer
First Floor 3-Bed Unit by the Ocean works for more than a weekend. The MadeComfy listing allows long stays, and one guest, Raju, wrote that they stayed for a month and it was "the perfect spot for everything".
The kitchen has what a longer stay needs: a dishwasher, microwave, oven, gas cooktop, coffee machine, kettle and toaster. The laundry has a washer and dryer, and an iron is supplied. There's also a first aid kit in the apartment. The TV has streaming apps, but you'll need to sign in with your own accounts.
Before you book, it helps to know how the booking works:
- After booking, you complete an ID check through a secure Stripe link. Your check-in details arrive after that.
- Cancel up to two days before check-in for a full refund, less a 3% payment fee. After that, you get 50% back, less a 10% service fee.
- Small and medium pets are welcome on request. Send the host a photo of your pet before you arrive, and a $200 cleaning fee applies.

Easts Beach is about a 15-minute walk (1.3 kilometres) and Kendalls Beach about 16 minutes (1.4 kilometres). Kiama Ridge Waters is not on the beach itself.
Can I bring my dog?
Small to medium pets are welcome on request in every apartment except 3-Bed Apartment with Study Nook. A $200 cleaning fee applies to stays with pets. Read about pet-friendly stays.
Can we hold a party or event in the apartment?
No. Kiama Ridge Waters is accommodation only, and parties and events aren't allowed in the apartments or common areas. Groups staying for a wedding or celebration are welcome, as long as the celebration happens elsewhere.
